Review – Casket Creatures: Return To Wolfton

Atlanta’s favorite horror punks The Casket Creatures are back with their 3rd full length Return To Wolfton dropping May 18th at Days Of The Dead in Charlotte, NC!

There are two types of horror punk bands, those that copy The Misfits and those that are influenced by them. The Casket Creatures fall into the latter sounding more like bands in the vein of Screeching Weasel and Teenage Bottlerocket.

The album kicks off with the intro 2027 narrated by Dave West of Needless Things podcast and immediately shoves the following track Phantom Zone down your throat. Phantom Zone is the first single off Return To Wolfton, you can catch the video here

From there listeners are treated to 10 additional tracks bringing the album to a 34 minute joyride. Blistering guitars from Derek Obscura & Kevin Slayfield, driving bass from Cliff Damnage, and howling vocals from Ryan Cadaver are sure to please any punk fan.

If I had to pick a few tracks to turn this album on to someone they’d be Phantom Zone, Losers Club, The 13th, and 2 Skulls (named for their fallen brother, friend, and drummer Tony “2 Skulls” Dinneweth).

Get your friends together order some pizza, a keg, have a party and blast this album with your favorite flicks or trailers muted in the background. It pairs perfectly with their back catalog and bands like the Horror Section, you can’t go wrong buying this immediately!

You can find more info for the release party at Days Of The Dead here and the band will also be playing the after party along with Elzig on Saturday May 19th!
