Reviews From The Crypt – The Sick & Twisted Horrors Of Joanna Angel

This week ECHG writer Adam Holtzapfel takes us back to 2008, the year that brought us The Sick & Twisted Horrors of Joanna Angel.

This 2008 disc includes what some call the best porn horror parodies around, Re-Penetrator (2004) and XXXorcist (2006). Both films were written and directed by Doug Sakmann (Punk Rock Holocaust) and star Joanna Angel along with Tommy Pistol.

Re-Penetrator clocks in at 8 minutes and tells the story of Dr. Hubert Breast (Pistol) as he reanimates a corpse (Angel).

Viewers are treated to him “needing something bigger” to inject a green serum to bring the corpse back to life.

You can guess where it goes from there. What works for this is the FX work for Angel’s make up as well as a couple other scenes that you need to see to believe. While this is a quickie it’s a fun watch that’ll make any horror fan laugh at the dialogue and jokes.

The next film is XXXorcist which you guessed it is a parody of The Exorcist that clocks in at about 20 minutes.

It’s Regan (Angel)’s 18th birthday when her mother (Kylie Kross) enlists the help of Father Merkin (Pistol) to help as Regan is getting worse.

This leads to a sexorcism as all traditional methods have not worked to expel the demon. As Merkin begins the ritual Regan busts out the famous “your mother sucks cock in hell, but not as good as I do” line, which is sure to get a chuckle from fans.

You can guess where it goes from here. The disc contains 3 endings (happy, sad, and fucked up). The FX work used stands out from the head spinning to the vomit like substance shooting from everywhere.

Fuck me Jesus, am I right?

While I wouldn’t watch these on the regular, they’re a fun watch for fans that can look at the whole picture versus tits and ass.

The run times seem off from IMDb, as it has XXXorcist at 47 minutes and Re-Penetrator at 22 minutes. Both films contain behind the scenes features.

I’d have to give these a B- so far they’ve aged really well. If you can track down this hard to find disc pair it with Evil Head and The Texas Vibrator Massacre for a night of adult only horror parodies.
