Amazon Prime picks for March, 2019

Amazon Prime Picks

As many of you know, I am a fan of Amazon Prime video selections. Each month they publish their upcoming video selection on their site, but what is worth seeing?

Yeah, I’m a little late this month. Sue me.

Here’s a list of my picks for the month:

Night Of The Living Dead (2007)

Well, I’m be darned if a few people actually gave this a good rating. Personally, if you want the original film re-imagined, I would go with the superior Tom Savini version from 1990 featuring upcoming panel guest on this website, Patricia Tallman. However, this does have frequent panel guest Sid Haig in it, so from a curiosity perspective, you may want to give it a look. Zombie flicks kind of seem like a good choice right now what with all this pestilence running around.

The Crazies (2010)

Here’s another homage or ripoff (dependent on your point of view) of a classic George Romero flick. I like this one a lot more than the film above there and it features Timothy Olyphant and Danielle Panabaker, so no matter your persuasion, something pretty to look at.

I think it’s a solid entry and worth a look.

Pet Sematary (2019)

I haven’t seen this one yet, so I’m looking forward (and dreading) it’s release this month. I’ve heard horrible things, but I want to give it a chance. Because I’m forgiving like that.

And I think John Lithgow is always fun to watch. Particularly when he is chewing up the scenery.

That, and a lot of people put Stephen King’s original book as one of his best and I was always left unsatisfied by the earlier version. Liked it, but didn’t love it. Here’s hoping!

Available March 19th for free with Amazon Prime.

47 Meters Down: Uncaged (2019)

I admit I liked the first 47 Meters Down (not currently free on Prime), but disliked the ending. This is the sequel no one was really looking for and like many horror sequels, it doesn’t scare as well, because we’ve been there before. They try a few new things like setting it in an undersea archaeological dig and have the extremely not-ugly cast include Sly Stallone‘s daughter, Sistine Stallone, but otherwise, we kind of know the notes of frequent air tank checks and close calls with toothy fish.

I miss Hooper, Quint and Chief Brody.
