October is the time of year people revisit or first visit horror movies. Every year you see someone is binging on “31 movies of Halloween” around this time of year. As a horror fan, all your “normal” friends ask for a list of recommendations. Let’s see if our experts can help you out a little.
Here at Otherworldly Culture, we aren’t making some goofy 100 movies of Halloween list. We simply asked our Dead On Movie Review panelists to make some suggestions. Just look down the list for the panelist you trust and give it a look.
…and then I put together some lists with themes just for fun.
These lists are not in an order. They are just darn good movies.
When possible, I linked to the Amazon link (which is the one service that most of these end up on; some direct you to the streamer and even help you get your free 30 day trial going…SCORE!)

Tim Kretschmann’s Themed Lists
Folks know I have been getting my friend Jeff Miller slowly introduced to my favorite genre. Each season of 9 innings, I attempt to make sure I have something that fits each of these sub-genres to give him a good broad base of films to enjoy. (He hasn’t gotten to all of these yet, so he has a lot to look forward to!)
