Tagging in this week into DEAD ON THURSDAYS, we have the next inning of Dead On the Bases. This time, we review two movies that I believe may not be as well known.
On last week’s DOT, Horror Realm Radio shared some exciting guest announcements for Horror Realm in Pittsburgh this winter. I highly recommend checking it out for that alone, obviously, but I’ve been on a personal journey with that show.
Expect an article expanding on those announcements here on Tuesday.
They looked at the original and remake of the film The Hills Have Eyes. I really like both but there is something that bugged me about the remake: they minimalized Father Jupe and never really named Pluto in it. Is it weird that bothers me so much? I just liked those features in the original film and missed the weird conversations over their walkie talkies. What do you think?

This week, my Amazon pick is the movie Upgraded. Yes, it is a romantic comedy on this site. I put this in here to prove I can watch things other than horror and sci fi. The story, per Amazon, is…
Ana (Camila Mendes) is an ambitious intern dreaming of a career in the art world while trying to impress her demanding boss Claire (Marisa Tomei). When she’s upgraded to first class on a work trip, she meets handsome Will (Archie Renaux), who mistakes Ana for her boss– a white lie that sets off a glamorous chain of events, romance and opportunity, until her fib threatens to surface.
Frankly, it starts strong, but slowly descends toward the goopy romance you see in a typical Hallmark Christmas movie about halfway through. But I had to include it since Thomas Kretschmann is in it and I still have no idea if we are actually related.
