On this day in history, many memorable events happened in the world of pop culture and sports. Here are some of the highlights:

In 1964, Sean Connery began filming on “Goldfinger.” This is generally considered the best Bond movie more often than any other film. In my mind, it is Sean Connery’s best entry but I have my personal favorite being the one-off by George Lazenby “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.”

Tim Kretschmann is the host of Dead On Movie Reviews, Now Streaming, and Dead On the Bases. He is also a columnist on OtherworldlyCulture with the column Universally Loved.
